ALL Disciplines

Welcome to Re-Ride Consignment Tack Shop LLC.. We have been providing a place for horse folks to "recycle" their good used tack and equipment since 2002. We have met and hope to continue to enjoy meeting hundreds of horse lovers in the Carolina foothills.

We are Open Tuesday-Friday from 10-6 and Saturday 9-3. We are "Gone Riding" Sunday and Monday but happy to do appointments! Tuesday we close at 4 pm.

Brittany Annis - New Owner

Brittany's "Horse Addiction" began when she was old enough to participate in the 4-H Horse Camp. That year her mother, Kimberly, rescued an older lesson horse named Maggie right before she loaded the trailer to be sent to the sale and not long after that Grace came along. That was the end of life as she knew it. From then on, she lived and breathed horses.
If time travel was possible, she wouldn't think twice about heading back to the year 2000... riding bareback on the trails, playing Cowboys and Indians, racing with your best friend and trusty steed. Her Grandfather, Gerald, always believed in her and hauled them to shows every weekend all over North Carolina. There wasn't a weekend they weren't showing, it seemed like. She boarded her horses at Blancheland Stables for over 10 years, and wouldn't be the horse person she is today without the support, guidance, and love from the owners, Jack & Peggy.
Over the years, Brittany has ridden both English and Western Disciplines, barrel raced, jumped, shown Paso Finos, and blazed miles and miles of trails. In 2014 she moved from the Sub Base in Groton, CT to Rutherfordton, NC to pursue her dream of owning her own farm and rehab/rescue. Her husband and children are a huge part of her life and help make everything run smoothly and without a team effort, none of this would even be possible. They love to spend their "days off" riding and hauling to local events to show off their rescues and the importance of "feel" and "natural horsemanship" to better the horse and rider. Not to mention, show what a little love and understanding does for the abused or horse that was once "thrown away".

Horses Are More than a Hobby

Paula Mierop - Silent Partner

In 2002, after years of learning the consignment store business working for the Frog and Swan, Inc, in Tryon, NC (Only the best antique consignment store ever!) Paula founded Re-Ride. She saw the need for a store that would cater to the economical horseperson. Re-Ride has become a staple tackshop for the horse "addict" in the area.
Paula's own horse "addiction" began at birth. Her father, Vic Bitter, was great at filling the pastures with good horses, mostly Appaloosas as well as some great grade quarterhorses. Why he bought Nippy home (the pony who lived up to his name) is a mystery but he was fun!
Over the years, Paula has ridden quite a few miles and styles, learning the different tack needed along the way. She has ridden and shown Western, Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat and has competed in Pleasure Driving Shows and CDE's. Her riding now consists of enjoying the many trails of the foothills.
